The Austrian Bundesheer has at least as utilitarian take on military gear as the German Bundeswehr. These combat gloves are fire retardant and very leathery in the right places. And BLACK.
In theory, you should stop reading now and just purchase a pair, but let's go on a bit about these.
- Suitably dextrous fit for fiddly tasks
- Basic fabric Aramid/Nomex; these won't easily catch fire and will not melt on your skin
- Leather reinforcements on places most prone to wear, and the leather is relatively thick too
- Light paddding on the knuckles, with these any fist-to-face activity is more pleasant for both parties
- Large, comfy hook & loop adjustment on the wrist
If you're acquainted with the German Bundeswehr leather/Nomex combat gloves, these are kinda like those but with a shorter shaft and a tad beefier general feel.
Size info
Sizes in standard glove sizes: palm circumference in inches. If you usually wear half size, size up.
Austrian surplus
Used, sometimes a bit salty looking, but intact and serviceable for the purpose they were made for. We have a funny feeling these will have a high demand, which tends to eat up the availability.

Nonetheless, I love these and can't wait to use them for all kinds of things! If anything I wish I had gotten two pairs!
