How about some crisp, fresh winter air, landscapes lit by white snow, and the best cup of hot coffee you ever had? Go hiking in the wintertime! After a bit of skiing, snowshoeing, or just walking, your picnic lunch tastes a hundred times better.
The bare minimum winter hiking gear is not a huge lot. When you buy winter gear from us, you are sure to get quality stuff at a sensible price. If the price of new clothes still gives you anxiety, our military surplus section sometimes has high-quality winter clothing at very nice prices.
You should adjust your winter hiking clothing based on temperature, wind conditions, and your speed. Less stuff on when you move, and more when you stay put. Winter boots should be tall or you can opt for gaiters. If you plan to stay outdoors for the night, a proper winter sleeping bag and a well insulating winter sleeping pad are quite necessary.
