A tunnel tent has a sleeping area and a spacious vestibule. You can store all your gear indoors, protected from rain, without having to sleep next to your smelly and wet clothes. You can also get dressed away from rain without dragging sand and mud into your bed. Furthermore, you can eat indoors during a rainstorm. Cooking in the vestibule isn’t advisable unless you can ensure really good ventilation. Never cook in the sleeping quarters.

Materials

The outer tent (flysheet) is made from fire-retardant HydroTex HD RS (75D ripstop polyester 190T). The ripstop outer fabric is highly resistant to damage and limits tear travel. The outer tent has a hydrostatic head of 5,000 mm, which means that it should keep the water outside even in a very heavy rainstorm. Strong and flexible tape is glued and heat-sealed over the flysheet seams to make them waterproof.

The inner tent is made from breathable 68D polyester 190T. The inner floor is made from PU-coated 75D polyester taffeta 210T, the hydrostatic head of which is 10,000 mm, which should be enough even in swampy ground.

The fabrics are fire retardant, which means that the material doesn’t burn, but it melts in direct contact with flames. So, don’t build a campfire inside the tent; it turns you into a nacho coated with American "cheese".

The poles are made from lightweight, strong, reliable, and durable aluminum.
