  • Safe training knife for martial arts, military and law-enforcement
  • Fits the Jääkäripuukko 140 Leather Sheath or Boltaron Sheath
  • Realistic appearance and stiffness

Made of AISI 304 stainless steel with the same over-molded rubber grip as the "actual" Jääkäripuukko. Overall length: 270 mm (10.6"), Blade length: 140 mm (5.5").

Why not a rubber knife?

There are two functional reasons for choosing steel: it won't bend when you practice disarming and it fits your sheath. Having the same visual cue makes the training a bit more realistic as well. Train like you fight!

Tactical

We made it all the way here without mentioning this word. The tool speaks for itself, no need to use popular marketing words for it. Some love tactical stuff (a bit too much), so here's for all the mall ninjas! Tac-ti-cal!

Varusteleka Terävä

All Terävä knives and leather sheaths are manufactured by Laurin Metalli, a family business and Finland's leading knife blade manufacturer from Kauhava with roots going back to 1918. The Boltaron sheaths are made by Savotta in Karstula, Finland. Founded in 1955, Savotta is known for its simplistic and extremely rugged, Nordic designs. The Kydex sheaths are made by C&G Holsters, USA. A Terävä blade is Finnish craftsmanship, pure and simple! And "Terävä", that's just Finnish for "sharp". Realistically, if I get into a knife fight, it will be with a tool I'm carrying for other reasons, so it's nice to have a training version of the right size and weight. Also, I'm a klutz. It's great to have a training tool that allows me to practice plain old tool handling (never mind fighting) without cutting my fingers off or stabbing myself in the foot when I inevitably drop it.

Vanha sananlasku sanoo, että puukkotappelun voittaja kuolee vasta ambulanssissa.
Tällä välineellä voit turvallisesti kaverien kanssa havainnoida miksi näin on.

Vakavasti puhuen, harjoitusveitsi soveltuu hyvin erilaisiin harjoituksiin, kunhan muistaa
että terä ei ole kumia, eikä tämän päälle kannata esim. kaatua. Veitsi on myös sen verran
painava (200g), että kyllä tämänkin osuma ikävältä tuntuu.

Got this on a lark with my 140 and I wasn’t disappointed. The only fault it has is that it is not quite identical in weight or balance, but it’s pretty close.

I now have both the 140 Stainless & Carbon as well as the 110 in Carbon steel.
I collect knives & have way more than I need but - the Jäaäkäripuukkos have become my top choice medium blades & I have unhesitatingly recommended them to my friends.
Since I'm a lifelong Martial Arts student & often work with clubs, staves, swords & heavy knives, axes & tomahawks - i find the slightly blade heavy 140 to be not only exceptional but I disagree that it feels "clumsier" - it feels Damn near perfect!!!
I also recently got the Jäaäkäripuukko Red handled trainer - subjectively the lighter weight of the aluminum blade gives it a balance right between the 110 & 140 which is excellent for combatives manipulation training since I carry both the 110 & 140 in conditions where they would be my "Go To" blade in a defensive situation.

I carry my Stainless 140 in a KaBar polymer sheath trimmed for the 5.5 inch length vs a 7 inch KaBar. This will also fit the Red handled trainer.
The Carbon blades both have AZWelke custom taco-style sheaths (sorry but I'm from Arizona & the taco-design is easier for IWB, edge-up or thumb-side, carry than either the Varusteleka leather or Boltaron sheath options) on the way & those will be equipped with UtiliClips for inside the waistband or pocket carry.

I don't know if the Jäaäkäripuukkos are "PERFECT" but they are ABSOLUTELY NO B.S.!!!

THANK YOU,
Yer Humble Arizona Regular Pig
