Freeze-dried food—if you're into carrying light, this is for you. These are properly sized portions for one and pretty tasty, too! There are lots of options, something for most dietary restrictions.
Freeze-dried food is great for hiking, hunting, and military use when potable water is available so that you don't have to carry it, like when trekking in Finland. Blå Band stuff has the usual modern features—it doesn't require cooking after adding water, and you can eat it straight out of the bag.
Instructions
- Tear off the top of the pouch where marked and fold out the bottom.
- Add boiling water up to the indicated level and stir. You can also use cold water.
- Reseal and wait for about 10 min or 30 min if you use cold water.
- Add more water if necessary.

The company is Swedish, but these meals are made in Germany.
The food's shelf life is usually two years. However, it won't turn bad after that.
