Two-person combat tent

Comprises of two parts, the inner tent, and the outer rain fly. Striking the tent is very easy, just stick the aluminum poles in the holes and the thing pops up. The first time might not work as smoothly as in the movies, so you should try it out before the trip.

This tent has two doors, so both campers have their own entrance. In addition to the sleeping space, there's also a separate porch for each person’s boots and rucksack. The tent is completely insect-proof thanks to the solid floor and very tight mesh. You can also zip up the nylon doors. These coupled with the rain fly make the tent "blacked out" so no light comes in or out. A very good feature in military use. There is no window so if you encounter more condensed water you’d like, leave the solid door a bit open or sleep with just the insect door closed.

Size info

This isn’t an ultralight hiker's dream since the whole tube weighs 5.4 kg (11.9 lbs). And it is quite bulky to carry in your backpack. You can, of course, split it up between your traveling companion. And if you travel by car, canoe, motorbike, or boat, it is quite a nice shelter.

You can fit two sleepers quite comfortably inside. And since both have their own entrance, you won’t need to crawl semi-erotically over each other to get in unless you really want. Both have their own storage space between the tent and the rain fly that can fit regular hiking gear pretty nicely.

Package contents

In addition to the tent and the two-sided rain fly there are three tent poles, a bunch of tent pegs, and their carrying bags in the package. The pegs might also include some authentic surplus sand. The tent also has storm cords for bad weather. They are not attached to the tent, so you might want to put them on in good time before the storm.

As a bonus, there either is or isn’t a repair kit included in the package. If it is there, you should have some patches of the tent wall, floor, and rain fly fabric, buckles, a needle, etc. Even a thimble to protect your finger. This is a bonus feature because we cannot guarantee that all repair stuff is included with every tent.

Jan-u-wine US army stuff

Yeah, these are ex-US military tents made from quality materials in the USA. In used condition: there's some wear here and there, but everything works. There might be some dirt stains and a small hole or some on the insect net. If you’re picky, you should repair them if encountered. Overall these are in quite a good condition. However, they have been packed away for some time, and thus the odor is quite stunning (literally). We recommend striking the tent up and letting it air out for a while. Otherwise, your first romantic camping night might be truly unforgettable.

I have used these things in the Marine Corps, and now I own one! Good piece of kit; easy to repair, and good for 4 seasons, though they're not very warm in winter (used one at Bridgeport for cold weather training in '02), and questionable on snow bearing loads on the supports...
