The Finnish army "commando cap" is far more than just any woolly watch cap, it's something of a Finnish military tradition and very functional too, the double layered constrution giving it added warmth and insulation.

NVA wool neck tube, grey, surplus

An essential bit of winter kit: the headover or toque. The German armed forces have used this for ages. This tube-like piece of cloth was originally a Wehrmacht issue item: go ahead and look at any old photos from the eastern front and you'll see the popularity.

Our staff is usually fully clothed in Varusteleka, but there was one constant exception: they wear jeans, and we didn't have them. We fixed this fault by making Good Ol' Proper Jeans. As the blue model had a good welcome, here's a pair in classic black and with button fly instead of a zipper!

Austrian Bundesheer Gore-Tex (or Sympatex!) jacket. Cut very much like the US M65 field jacket, but is water- and windproof. An excellent fall/winter jacket with practical features and nice nonchalant colour scheme.

US M51 Fishtail Parka, with liner, reproduction

US M51 Fishtail Parka, with liner, reproduction

98.99 USD

Here's something you don't see too much of nowadays. The M51 "Fishtail" Parka was standard issue in the US Army before the new Gore-Tex stuff. Some might say this is still better suited to certain conditions. These are well made reproductions of the originals.

The classic M65 jacket. Tru-Spec's model is almost as good as the real thing - right down to the water repellent treatment and all.

A right & proper classic among military fashion, the M65 has to be the most copied army jacket ever. Of course the original is still the best, and these come extremely close. An all year round jacket, the M65 features a button-on liner for chilly weather, turning it into a formidable winter jacket. It's actually the only jacket you really need.

Features:

  • Metal zipper & snap fastener closure, easy and fast to use, looks good.
  • Four large pockets with snap closure. These are so handy that they'll probably end up full of small stuff and you'll have to periodically empty them.
  • High collar with a hood hidden inside. The hood isn't the best possible to be honest, but no-one really uses it and if you need one, it's better than nothing.
  • Lightweight cotton lining.
  • Adjustments in the cuffs, hem, waist and collar - can be tailored to your liking for either neat or scruffy appearance.
  • Separate, warm polyester liner jacket, can be worn alone too, sort of.

The material is 50/50 NyCo, with a water repellent treating, which will fade with use and washing. The liner jacket is made of nylon, with polyester batting inside.

Size info

Sizes in the original US Army system, with Regular and Long lengths. These are a tad oversized as they are meant to be worn over everything. This means that a person who would normally borderline size Medium might just fit in a size Small jacket. The official user's recommended centimetre measurements can be found here.

A note on Small Regular: this size is shorter than normally, we would say the recommended user's height would be 165-175 cm.

Made by Tru-Spec

Factory new, made by the American company Tru-Spec. However these are manufactured in China, but represent better quality than many other makers' versions.

Mitoitus on todellakin reiluhko.

I bought one of these early last spring.
If you take the liner out it's a great light jacket all the way up to autumn. If you put a sweater on under the jacket it will last you all the way up to winter. And if you have a Särmä fleece hoodie on plus the liner it'll take you through the winter as well.

In other words, you'll never need another jacket in your life.
