Heat Layer System

These liner gloves are part of the Heat Layer System, which was developed for military units in Germany and Austria but now popular worldwide as multifunctional outdoor gloves. With this system, you combine different inner gloves (liners) with other layers depending on how much the weather hates you. This way you have one glove system that works in very versatile weather conditions and you get insulating air in-between the layers.

1st Layer: Liner gloves

The first layer of the system offers 10-20% of the total heat output. Choose the liner according to the weather and what you do in it.

2nd Layer: Warm Shell Mittens

The second layer on top of the Liners is the super warm Shell Mittens that are made in different material combinations. The finger compartment zips open and folds down when you need to be able to use your fingers or operate touch screens.

3rd LAYER: Polar Hood

The outermost layer consists of windproof and water-resistant pullover mittens that offer additional protection against wind and moisture. These triple layers are fit for the coldest and harshest regions of the world.

Heat2 Gloves

Fingerless gloves with a mitten cap. Made from fleece or softshell fabric and perfect for the transition seasons.

1st + 2nd Layer: Heat 3 Gloves

These combine the first and second layer into one entity. The liner and shell mitten are sewn together, which is excellent for folks that have a tendency to misplace gloves or those that just need winter gloves for one type of winter, cold.

Materials and care

These gloves are made from Polartec® Power Wool, which is a knit fabric that combines the best of both natural and synthetic fibers without blending. Instead, each distinct fiber is placed where it can work to its highest potential. The highly breathable anti-odor Merino wool lies directly on the skin and feels soft and warm. Stretchy elastane in the middle ensures an excellent fit, and tough Nylon on the outside makes the Merino Liner more durable. Conductive textile on your fingers allows you to easily operate your touchscreens.

They are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified, which means that every component has been tested for harmful substances and the gloves are harmless for human health. The Merino wool used is from species-appropriate animal husbandry and cruelty-free wool, i.e. exclusively without mulesing.

Wash either using the wool program of your washing machine or hand-wash at 30°C (86 F).

They are also great for cold weather hunting, especially sitting in the blind. The Heat 3 Smart glove was also the test winner for driven hunt gloves in the Jäger Magazine. The Heat Company gathers feedback from hunters and uses it for consistent product development.

Choosing the right size

These are in regular glove sizes, which is the circumference of your hand measured around the widest point of your palm. Read more about measuring your hand here if it isn’t that familiar to you. Below you’ll find the table with The Heat Company’s own recommended hand measurements.

Size Metric Freedom
