Tactical Heater Bag

Each set includes a tactical Heater Bag, which is ideal for situations where you cannot boil water or build a fire. The idea is pretty simple. Put water in the food bag and close the bag properly. Put the heater pad in the heater bag, pour 1,5 dl water on top of it, place the food bag inside, and close the heater bag. The heating process starts within 30-180 seconds depending on how warm water you use. Heat the food for 15-20 minutes. We recommend stirring it once after 10 minutes.

Note! Keep your hands away from the holes where the hot steam escapes the bag! Hot steam is hot, you know. The water exposed to the heater pad is not suitable for drinking or cooking. You can use the heater bag at least ten times but you need a new heater element every time. If still in doubt, check out the simple instructional video below:

What the hell is freeze-drying?

Freeze-drying is a clever food-preservation method with a fairly long history. The Indigenous people living in South American Andes discovered two centuries ago that if they take frozen foods higher up in the mountains where the air pressure is lower, the ice crystals start to vaporize. The water content of freeze-dried food is very low, so it requires no preservatives but still has a very long shelf-life. This method was utilized more broadly 50 years ago for storing the food of the American special forces in the Vietnam War.

In modern freeze-drying, the food is first frozen quickly and then the temperature is slowly raised in a vacuum chamber. During this long process, water is removed from food, but the vitamins and nutrients remain. The process complies with the EU requirements and uses no unnecessary additives that would artificially increase the calorific value. Freeze-dried food gives you real energy and nutrition even in the most difficult conditions.

Testissä oli kahden pävän ajan Bravo -versio tuotteesta. Tämä pakettihan siis sisältää vain itse muonat kahdelle päivälle eikä ollenkaan hygieniatarpeita tai muuta kilkettä kuten teetä tai kahvia, joka kannattaa ottaa huomioon jos sellaisia tarvitsee. Yhden päivän muonapaketit taas sisältävän moiset luksukset.

Testattu myös samalla itse lämmityselementti ja -pussi tämän muonan kanssa ja lopputulos on kerrassaan Eniromainen; todella nopeasti sekä helposti kuumeneva valmistuspakkaus ilman tulta. Ehkä kannattaa myös harkita että samalla satsilla lämmittää jotain muutakin koska tuosta elementistä yhdellä kerralla muuten jää "ylimääräistä" tehoa reilusti käyttämättä! Tämän takia pienemmät muonapussit ovat oivia kun siellä kerran on lämpimille juomille erikseen sekoituspussukka ja muuta kivaa.

Mausteinen nuudelikeitto: Mukavan maukas nuudelikeitto ja aivan inasen chilisen tuntuinen. Ei etu- eikä jälkipolttoa juurikaan. 4/5

Kana-nuudelivuoka: Ainoa ruoka joka tästä kavalkaadista ei oikeasti edes maistu tai tuoksu siltä mitä paketin kyljessä sanotaan; tuoksuu puurolta, mutta maistuukin imelältä kivekseltä. Kanabiitit ovat siellä, mutta niitä ei edes maista. Ei missään tapauksessa jatkoon, 0/5! (Syöty silti mukisematta koko satsi koska haaskaus on ikävää.)

Nauta-perunapata: Perunamuusi on yllättävän jees, eikä todellakaan sisällä sellaista mummonmuusin makuista kirjaimellist mummon makua. Nautabiitit sopivan kokoisia ja hyviä. Suosittelen melkein valmistamaan 10min suositellun 9min sijaan, että nauta mureutuu hieman enemmän. 4/5 tälle.

Possupataa riisillä: Sitä mitä pussissa sanotaan. Oikein hyvää ja mukavaa kaikenkaikkiaan. Ehkä, kuten nauta-perunapadassakin todettu niin kannattaa antaa valmistua hetken pidempään jos haluaa mureampaa lihakokemusta.

Kermainen vihannespasta: Vaikka syönkin enimmäkseen lihaa ja perunaa, niin kyllä tämä vihannespata oli valehtelematta tämän paketin maukkain kokonaisuus. Ei voi muuta sanoa kuin hattua nostaa, 5/5!

Loppuarvosana 4/5 koska ei maistu salami (höhöö). Oikeasti tämä siksi, että yksi muona-annos koko kavalkaadista ei käytännössä maistunut ollenkaan siltä mitä luulisi ja paketista lukisi sekä siksi, että vaikka kaikki (muut kuin mainittu kiveksen makuinen nuudelivuoka) ruoat ovat hyviä ja maittavia niin ne ovat kuitenkin aika hintsunlaisesti maustettuja ja suolattuja. Sinä lukijana saat päättää onko tämä hyvä vai huono, mutta ainakin positiivisena puolena tämä antaa hyvää säätämisvaraa annoksiin itse kullekin maiskuttelijalle ja vauvasuulle.

Eli lopputuloksena kulutajalle ihan kuitenkin suositeltava tuote retkelle sekä muuhun ulkopuuhailuun tai miksei vaan kodin hätävaraksikin. Jos vauvasuusi ei kestä liikaa maustetta niin vakiona muonat ovat todella mietoja ja neutraaleja, mutta jos koet olevasi chilipää ja halajat mausteita, niin kannattaa varata niitä sitten messiin näiden kanssa. Huomaa myöskin, että lämmityselementtejä tulee tähän pussukalliseen vain yksi (1) kappale!
