Not just any old pair of wool trousers, this Swiss stuff is extremely high-quality, painstakingly made of the finest materials. These are charmingly outdated in their fashion with lots of leg room and a very high waist. As if this wasn't enough, the Swiss even incorporated black piping on the sides to really tell these are old-fashioned even in the category of old wool trousers. Nice!

First of all, buy these right now! If you are not convinced yet, read more incitement below:

High-quality, military-grade wool is tough-wearing and tightly woven. Stuff like this costs a fortune to make these days, even a pair of reproduction wool trousers with inferior quality costs a hundred bucks. Quality items start at around 200 bucks.

The cut is very straightforward, just a straight and roomy leg, the usual pockets, and a close fit at the waist. The belt loops fit most belts, but the practical and comfortable solution is to mount suspenders to their dedicated buttons.

The buttonholes seem hand-stitched.

Care info

Wool doesn't like machine washing, we recommend only brusing off any excess dirt and airing these out to get rid of any nasty smells that probably won't linger around long. If you really have to wash these, do it by hand and hang out to dry.

Size info

The first number is the leg inseam, the second one is the waistband width laid flat. These are the measurements of the garment itself e.g. a size marked as 80/44 cm will have an 80 cm inseam and 88 cm waistband. The waist is rather high.

There are lots and lots of sizes - Swiss profoundness at work here. At the very top, you'll find the shortest models organized by waist size from small to large. Then, the next shortest inseams and again, waist from small to large. The idea is to determine a suitable inseam first, then to see if there are suitable waist sizes available in that length.

Swiss army surplus

Used, overall in OK condition, any possible repairs are very, very well made, as is always the case with Swiss kit.

Excellent quality and fit, mine were like brand new. The one thing I would wish for is a cargopocket. I Will keep an eye out for when they get My size again!

Bought one pair. Tried them on. Immediately ordered another pair. The only reason I'm not buying even more is that I doubt the ones I've got is ever going to need replacing. Amazing quality and great condition. True to measurements, of course. I could not be happier.

Bought the 76 and 80 cm waist as wasn't 100% which would be the best fit given how hit and miss some military sizing can be, both with 82cm inside leg.

76cm waist is perfect fit and the 80cm isn't far off either, I might butcher another pair I bought from e-bay that I tailored in at the waist to use for cargo pockets on one of these as after reading another reviewers comment on that being the only thing lacking on these.

The 76cm waist pair I bought are practically in out of the stores condition however the 80cm waist pair have been professionally tailored from a 70cm inside leg to an 82 by some invisible trickery I can't make out reduced from a 84cm waist to an 80cm one and a second clasp at the fly to bring it down to a 79cm waist from the looks of it.

Bought the last pair in my size. When they arrived I, against the advice of the description, threw them in the washing machine. On cold water wool wash. They handled that without a problem, and now they don't smell as much.

The pair I received was probably new, or at least barely used. They seem like some well designed trousers that will last for a life time! I would recommend them if you can find a pair.
