Swiss M84 water bottle cup, aluminium, surplus
About the size of a large coffee cup, this Swiss army article is naturally well made and cheap as dirt. It even has a pair of folding ears to ease storage.
Volume maybe about 5 dl, dimensions 10 x 9 x 7 cm. Aluminium cookware is perfectly fine, provided you wash these by hand, not in the machine. Microwaving metal containers is generally not a good idea, but you can of course safely heat them with actual fire.
Buy a bunch; these are sooo cheap and you'll lose a few anyway.
Used army surplus
Real deal Swiss army surplus, used but completely serviceable. We do suggest washing the cup before use. In theory these are almost eternal, the only way to render one useless is to hammer it flat or run over it with a Land Rover.

Kansi on helppo värkätä säilyketölkin / pantittoman kaljatölkin kyljestä.
1. surplus. Because who doesn't love to recycle/upcycle/be a hipster!
2. cheap enough. Sure there are cheaper things out there, but none of them are as cool!
3. excellently made. What else do you expect from a nation that told the Nazis to get lost (and they listened!). looks like it won't die on you. ever. Aluminium means that it can take a hit, and just keep going.
4. the shape is good. The folding handles are of a good size, meaning you can hold them without letting your hands touch the cup. good for hot stuff. It's oval and smaller than most canteen cups, which I like a lot. its more of a regular mug size, and it being oval makes it just a bit more pack-able than an actual round mug.
I bought two. one is marked JE99, and the other is marked STM06. Both also have the Swiss cross along with the markings. The 06 one is hardly used, and only needed a mild cleaning, the 99 was a bit more beat up, and dirty. but a scouring pad made it clean and ready for duty.
The only downside is that the bottoms are not entirely flat, so the cups tend to wobble a bit. I hammered both cups down a bit, so now the bottoms are flat. Took me all of one minute, so it's not a downside at all, really. Some people say that an item is just an item until you make it better. then it becomes yours. This is true for most surplus things, and one of the reasons that I keep coming back to this awesome shop.
