Swedish prisoner trousers, surplus
Want some proper nice vintage men's trousers? Look no further than these Swedish prisoner issue pants! Made of cotton with such luxurious features as high waist, roomy pockets, pleated waist and suspender buttons, these should fit the bill for anyone who's looking for a casual pair for everyday wear or just after vintage prison wear.
The fabric is nothing short of amazing; it reflects light differently depending on the angle you look at it. That's because the threads used in the weave are of different colours. Pair these with rusty red, dark blue and brownish coloured stuff and they work like a charm. Wash in 40 degrees Celsius, about.
Sizes in standard EU sizes or straight-up centimetres because different size marking standards, but please pick the trousers by our recommended user's measurements (user's recommended height and maximum waist) seen in the brackets; our measurements are more accurate than the actual fit by the official size numbers. For example, normally in the Swedish system size 96 would be a long 48, but these are quite erratic! Note: these have some tolerance in the measurements. By picking your size by our recommendations you will get a pair that fits AT LEAST that size person, the leg & waist of the trousers can be a couple of centimetres bigger too. Fortunately these are very easy to shorten, having a straight leg. Measure your waist at the navel!
Being prisoner issue, maybe even made by prisoners, possibly even inspected by prisoners, these are not the fanciest quality when it comes to details such as this.
Our model is size 175/84 cm and wears size 48 trousers in the pictures.
In excellent condition, most aren't even used. These do have a musty warehouse odour to them. This will fade away in use. These are probably made in the mid 1900's, so what can you expect!
These are just lovely. Surprisingly comfortable and very very very cheap for what they are. Of course the attention to minute details has that little rough edge to it - for example my pair has a finger-size hole in the seam of one pocket, the stitching of one button was shoddily made and a part of some seam was questionably sewn, all straight from the factory. Expect these kind of things. Oh, and the musty smell left in about a week.
The fabric feels just light enough for summer use, especially with its light colour scheme. These look pretty good paired with darkish bluish green, straight up light gray or shades of blue and of course brown shoes. I'm still thinking about trying to dye them darker. And maybe get a second pair just in case, as these are dirt cheap.
Thank you, the prison system of Sweden!
Later on I bought two pairs more. My waist is pretty much 84 cm, and size 48 (or 96) seemed to usually fit OK.

Kangas on modernille immeiselle paksua, mutta vanhaksi vaatekankaaksi sieltä kevyemmästä päästä. Näillä ei tule ältsin kuuma kesälläkään, kiitos ilmavan leikkauksen.
Tämmöiset pöksyt tähän hintaan, kyllä siinä voi antaa pari hutipistosta anteeksi. Kiitos Ruotsin vankilalaitos!
Ostin myöhemmin kahdet lisää. Mun vyötärö on pitkälti 84 cm ja koko 48 (tai 96) tuntui usein menevän ihan kivasti.
