Finnish Gas Protective Goggles, Surplus

Price 9.99 USD excluding sales tax

Utterly delightful big round goggles with a grey rubber frame. Originally designed as gas-tight safety goggles but we wouldn’t encourage you to try that anymore. Better purely for collecting or jolly steampunk fantasies.

Utterly delightful big round goggles with a grey rubber frame. Originally designed as gas-tight safety goggles but we wouldn’t encourage you to try that anymore. Better purely for collecting or jolly steampunk fantasies.

Use

To protect anyone from noxious fumes, the gas-tight goggles must be… well tight. The reality, however, is that you must have a very flat face for these to work. Furthermore, the rubber has lost quite a bit of its ability to contour to the shapes of your face. So, don’t test tear gases with these, it will make your eyes melt. Any kind of protective use is purely on your stupidity, we won’t sell these as protective gear.

Nevertheless, we haven’t seen these that often on the market, and these are even unused, so quite interesting as collectibles. Also perfect for the next Halloween or the dashing Ornitopter pilot or a mad steampunk scientist.

Condition

Unissued and unused. However, you should note that these are quite old, and the rubber band may be brittle and may have lost its elasticity. We sell these just for collecting, not for protection against anything. The lenses aren’t super brightly polished modern thingamajiggies, so your vision might be a bit more muddled than what you are used to in the perfect world. If you want to wear these, handle the rubber band carefully or replace it with a modern band.
