In modern Russia, all kinds of merits are rising again as the new empire needs its heroes. This medal carries the bust of marshal Zhukov, famous from the Second World War2. However the cause for awarding this isn't as grand as the person pictured would suggest: this is just a single soldier's award for combat merit or generally excellent service. A mandarin collar Soviet navy submarine uniform jacket, with shoulder boards denoting the rank of a rear admiral. Made of thick wool gabardine fabric with hefty senior officer style brass buttons. This is the same model as worn by Sean Connery & friends in the movie The Hunt For The Red October.

Twenty years is a long time for anyone, but it feels even longer when you serve in the Soviet army. No worries, if you did it well you would have been awarded this medal. Now you can just buy it and wear it on your t-shirt.
