KOMSOMOL stood for "The All-Union Leninist Young Communist League", which of course was a volunteer organization. Of course, if you weren't a member you didn't get the little benefits like moving forward in your career or having the licence to buy bread. Just kidding. They just cut off the heating at your home.
Size about 2 x 1.5 cm (0.8" x 0.6"), pin attachment on the back. Metal.
Real deal Soviet stuff.
