Soviet File, Surplus

Party-approved official Soviet files. Several sizes and shapes, for bigger and smaller filing needs. Made with machinery and technology confiscated from Hitler. This strange interaction of two evil overlords created one good thing at least, these are quality stuff. We found some more of these hiding in our warehouse.

History

When WWII ended, the Soviet Union managed to get hold of Nazi Germany’s file production with both the machines and know-how, and they started producing socialist files. Even though Hitler’s and Stalin’s shadow has touched these files, they are fine quality tools without an evil curse and they haven’t been purchased from Russia.

Sizing

Available in several separately sold sizes. Below you see the list of all files that we have had. Some are no longer in our selection, and might never return.

Use

These are all metal files, not rasps for wood. However, you can use these for wood as well, if you just want to remove very little of it. One of our copywriters uses metal files a lot in woodcarving at the finishing stage.

These don’t have a handle, but a handy person makes one in no time. This way you will certainly get what you’ll get. You can of course use these without a handle as well, not as comfortable but gets the job done. This way you can also fit these more easily inside a cake in case you want to break out the Dalton brothers from a Wild West prison. No point in sending these into modern prisons though.

Condition

These files are Soviet military surplus. There might be used ones and unissued ones in the mix. In any case, these have been lying in some obscure warehouse for quite some time, so there can be some small scratches and a little bit of surface rust on these. In any case, these are high-quality pieces of metal and they will last years to come.
