Dobrovolnoje Obštšestvo Sodeistvija Armii, Aviatsii i Flotu, DOSAAF. "Volunteer". Hehe. One-off lot!

Size about 2 x 2.5 cm (0.8" x 1"), pin attachment on the back. Metal.

This Volunteer Society is still alive in Russia, but the name today is "Russian Defence Sports-Technical Organization", POCTO. According to Wikipedia, its goals are "patriotic upbringing of the population and preparation of it to the defense of the Motherland". And everybody knows what 'defense' means when talking about Russia. And everybody also knows what "voluntary" means when talking about Soviet Union.

Our old product descriptions include ironic praise of our eastern neighbor and it used to be good fun. Does it piss you off? We understand and agree. However, we won't whitewash the old product descriptions. Instead, we have decided to stop buying Russian products. We sell what we have in stock and that's it.
