Belgian M58 smock, Jigzaw camo, surplus
Proper old timey paratrooper smocks from the days when men were made of wood and military gear was made to last! These 50´s smocks are actually quite something, a damn practical model with big pockets, a generous and roomy cut and materials that really make most modern clothes ashamed of themselves. It´s quite a miracle really that old relics like these are still around in numbers, but some day soon these too will be all gone! And these have quite a history to them too, some of these very jackets may have taken part in the wild mercenary wars of the Congo in the 1960´s.
Savotta LJK rucksack
One of the best external frame rucksack ever made. Unlike conscripts, this rucksack can take serious beating and abuse without giving up the ghost.
Finnish M05 rucksack, large
The M05 load bearing system also includes one of these huge, monstrous rucksacks, and sack is indeed the correct term. This pack is designed to simply carry a f*ckload of stuff, not to be comfy, easy to use or anything, just to carry a lot of stuff from point A to B. Totally bombproof construction and tough materials make this a sure bet!
Finnish M05 rucksack, small
The modern Finnish army backpack is the most succesful laymans-pack yet issued by our military. Long gone are the formless "Sipulisäkki" (Onion sack) of WW2 vintage, or the cold war era M85 "Palloreppu" (Ball pack)! These new ones are virtually indestructible and simple as their predecessors, but as a new feature surprisingly nice to use and carry!
Savotta Rucksack 323
The last of the Mohicans, or at least the last of proper old school framed canvas backpacks! Just like it was over 50 years ago the 323 from Savotta is still going strong, a classic design and outstanding quality.
Savotta Rucksack 339
The 339 is actually far more than just a rucksack, this is more like a mix between a regular backpack and a large external frame bergen. Classic design with an extremely clever carrying system, an excellent choice for carrying a few days worth of gear.
Oh dear, this brings back bad memories - the M85 pack was/is standard issue in the Finnish armed forces and despite being nearly indestructible, pretty shit. This is a civilian model made by Savotta, the fabric isn't as tight in the army issue but still good.
Complete with sack-like appearance, plastic sheet against your back, draping shoulder strap paddings and of course the original "overpack it if you want a tight package" feature. Other than that, it's a tough rucksack!
Made by Savotta in Finland, probably in the 90's. It's seen some use but is overall in very nice shape, apart from one missing side pocket snap fastener. One-off piece!
