A proper poncho is a very viable substitute for a waterproof jacket, especially so If you need to cut down your load weight or just want to carry less crap. By swapping your waterproof jacket/suit and tarp for a poncho, you can easily shave off some of your load weight, and best of all, you have a few less bits of gear to look after.

Materials

The main material is ripstop reinforced 100% polyamide, DWR treated, and PU coated. Waterproof up to 12000 mm.

These are sewn in Estonia, by an experienced factory that has a long history of producing clothing for military, law enforcement, and emergency services.

Huppu vaatii muokkausta. Se valuu jatkuvasti silmille. Joko hupun reunaan rautalanka tai sit päälle/takaraivolle M05 Pakkastakki tyylinen kiristys, että hupun yläreuna pysyy ylhäällä. Jos narut vetää tiukalle, niin sit kastuu kasvot.
Nyt on käytettävä lippalakkia yms ettei hupun yläreuna valu nenänpäälle. Ja en ole pienipäinen.

Very nice piece of Kit, though slightly on the short side for larger folks like myself (193cm) given the weight and packseize however, it is very durable and does withstand even long exposure to the Elements. To keep it from flappin about I simply tie a bit of paracord as an improvised belt. This could use some kind of tucking away flap for the hood wich would bring it to five Stars for me.

Bought this as a replacement for my old 1980s US military poncho, talk about some memories. After my father buying so I can use it for my walk to and from school in the rain, I finally had to retire it once I graduated from high school since it started bleeding in water whenever I started using it. But this awesome poncho will sure bring in some new memories for me. Not to mention it's the first time I've owned M05 camo. Love the packaging that it came in and the quality feels high. Love how there is a slight zipper so you can do some adjustments if needed. Have this on my Sarma TST patrol pack that I use for daily carry.

Bad stuff:
- Huge hood (It works fine if you have a cap on though)

Good stuff:
- Really solid construction
- Perfect size both on and packed down (Not perfect if you are very big and wear a big backpack though)
- Great that it is shorter in front & larger in back

Please make another version for us civilians that don't wear huge helmets! Also two different sizes (this size and NATO size) + double sided push buttons so ponchos can be combined would be amazing!

It is quality product, no doubt about it. I like the light weight of it. But it has two big cons also:
1. It is still too pricy for the quality
2. it could be longer/wider for about 10-15cm. I find it shortish as I am 184cm tall. It doesn't cover my knees and the sleaves cover only 2/3 of my arms.
