Use

Traditional mittens are an excellent choice when keeping your fingers warm is more important than dexterity. If it is really cold and windy or rainy, put shell mittens on top of these and you are warm and fuzzy again. Available in black and yellow.

It probably goes without saying that these aren’t designed for changing the tires of your car, field dressing a moose, or other wet n’ dirty stuff. Simply to keep your hands warm.

Material

Made of fine (19,5 mic.) mulesing-free 100% Merino wool, nature’s own magical elf material. It has a seamless double-layer construction. Thanks to the seamless construction, the mittens are soft and very pleasant to use. The airy double-layer keeps the fingers warm without being sweaty.

Merino wool is fully organic wool that comes from a certain species of sheep. In case you are wondering, mulesing-free means that the profits aren’t ripped from the sheep’s ass. In other words, this is more ethical.

Why do we yammer about this Merino stuff when people have done just fine with the regular wool for ages? First of all, Merino wool has all the best properties of wool. It is moisture-wicking, breathable, and keeps you warm even when wet.

In addition, it retains more warmth for the same bulk. And it feels really nice against your skin. If the old school wool itches and scratches like some cult-friendly hair shirt, this is the stuff you want. The only negative thing is a bit higher price tag. However, when you look at the properties, the quality and where these are made, it isn’t that bad at all.

Care

Wool is naturally quite anti-bacterial, so it doesn't stink easily. This is especially nice in conditions where the garment is worn continuously for longer periods of time. Usually just airing it out is enough.

If you really feel like washing these, wool wash at 30° Celsius (86° F) with a wool detergent and with same-colored laundry. Don't leave them in a wet lump after washing. Reshape them gently while still damp.

Size info

Available in three simple sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The small fit small paws, Large fit big meathooks, and the medium are for hands in-between. The wool is somewhat stretchy so choosing the size isn’t microscopic precision work. These aren't quite as stretch as our merino gloves though.

Made in Finland!

These high-quality mittens are made in the EU in Finland by Agtuvi.
