Finnish Shoulder Strap, Cotton, Surplus

Cotton shoulder straps of the Finnish army, most likely from the WWII period. As far as we know, they didn’t make this kind of straps after the wars. Possibly used on the magazine bag of the Lahti-Saloranta light machine gun but we aren’t 100% sure of this, so take it with a grain of salt.

Features

The width and length of these shoulder straps vary to some extent. On average, the length is 115 cm (45.3”) but it can vary by a couple of centimeters (1”) here or there, and the width is normally around 2,5-3,5 cm (1”-1.4”). All of these are some sort of cotton but thickness and style vary a bit. This is how it was when there was a shortage of everything. Even the colors vary from brown to green and pale something. Both ends of the strap have an iron wire loop that is attached to clips/buckles that can be opened.

Condition

Used Finnish military surplus. The metal parts can have some rust, the edges can be a bit frayed, and there can be some stains and such on the straps. Nevertheless, they are all completely serviceable.
