An extremely lightweight NIJ III+ ballistic plate for plate carriers and body armor vests. This plate is ridiculously light at only 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). One plate in the package.
Compared to ceramic NIJ IV plates, you can save up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs) weight! Weight really makes a difference when you want to stay agile and alert for extended periods. Also, the material is especially resistant against multiple hits close to each other.
- Stand Alone: does not require soft armor backing to reach the specified level of protection
- SAPI cut, dimensions 254 x 305 mm / 10" x 12". Thickness 28 mm (1 1/8")
- Multi Curve: contours comfortably to the body
- Weight: 1.5 kg / 3.3 lbs.
- Material: 100 % HPPE (High-Performance Polyethylene).

NIJ III level protection
The NIJ 101.06 standard level III is tested with six hits from a 7.62 NATO rifle. In short, it offers protection from common non-AP rifle rounds.
In addition, the plate has a +-suffix outside the official NIJ standard and is tested against these:
- 7.62x39 MSC
- 5.56x45 mm M193

The plates are manufactured in Europe and PGD offers a warranty period of 7 years against manufacturing and material defects.

The Danish PGD is a fairly recent name in ballistic protection but one we believe will be around for a long time. PGD makes vests and plates as well as helmets for demanding use.
