Originally soldiers had to snatch their paracord from used parachutes. Being just the right size for general-purpose + fairly strong, paracord has since become de facto universal cord for the US military and many others.

  • 550 type III Commercial, ie. the basic paracord everybody knows. (If you don't, don't let anybody know of your lack of knowledge!)
  • 30 metres of 4 mm thick cord, ie 100 feet of 5/32 inches
  • Breakage tested for 249 kg / 550 lbs strength (testing being done by some US manufacturer or something, no European certificates on these!)

Factory new. Please note that the colour shades might not always be exactly what pictured, especially regarding the orange.

Ostin tätä tavoitteenani saada tavallista pidempään kestävät kengännauhat, mutta naru onkin siihen tarkoitukseen liian liukasta, eivätkä täten pysy kiinni muutaman sadan metrinkään kävelyn jälkeen. Erittäin kestävän oloista narua noin niinkuin muuten, eiköhän tuolle jotain käyttöä keksi.

Narussa itsessään ei ole mitään vikaa, mutta tämä ei ole sitä "aitoa" armeijatavaraa. MIL-C-5040H spesifikaation mukaan yhden sisäsäikeen pitäisi olla värikoodattu, jonka mukaan narun valmistaja voidaan selvittää. Tässä kyseisessä paracordissa sellaista ei ole. Ei liene turvallista olettaa, että tämä paracord täyttää armeijatavaralle asetetut vaatimukset.

Mustaa kengännauhoiksi maihareihin. Nyt menty samoilla nauhoilla kaksi vuotta kolmen vuodenajan taktiikalla, eikä sinä aikana ole rispaantunut tai haalistunut.

Ainoa miinus ehdottomasti liukkaudesta. Itse yksinkertaisesti vedän kaksinkertaisen rusetin, joka jonkun mielestä saattaa näyttää näin jäykällä narulla vähän hassulta.

Riippumaton toinen kiinnitysköysi unohtui edellis yön leiripaikkaan, mutta onneksi oli ylimääräistä paracordia! Laitoin narun "kaksinkerroin" ja riippumatto puuhun kiinni. Hyvin kesti kannatella yön yli tämmöistä ~85kg miestä.
