NVA webbing set, surplus
An affordable alternative for carrying your combat load. This basic set includes a belt, suspenders, a combat pack, a magazine pouch and a canteen with a cup. Real East German issue!
Note: the magazine pouch is usually the straight AK-74 model for 5.45 mm mags. However, the 7.62 mm magazines also fit without problems.
The NVA copied its basic webbing more or less directly from the former Wehrmacht, and then made it a bit worse, but also cheaper to make. The materials used are rubber, canvas and Dederon (there was no nylon in East Germany!), the buckles and hooks are metal. All canvas is Strichtarn-camouflaged. This kit really radiates that lovely cheap nastiness many of us have come to associate with the DDR.
The belts are about 115 cm long, and can freely be adjusted downwards as much as you like.
Some parts used, some unissued, but in any case in serviceable condition.
