  • A cost-effective option for an individual hemorrhage control kit
  • Vacuum-sealed package designed to be easily opened when the need arises
  • Compact package designed to fit into a BDU cargo pocket or other "non-special" places such as the side pocket of a backpack.

The Individual Patrol Officer Kit (IPOK) from North American Rescue is designed as a cost-effective, compact, and durable individual hemorrhage control kit to treat bleeding from penetrating and other traumatic injuries. It covers the following needs: nitrile gloves for hygiene, gauze to pack into the wound, dressing to cover the wound, and a tourniquet to prevent blood flow to the wound.

Quite simple when you think of it!

Which order should I follow?

The order of using these items depends on the hemorrhage you're trying to control and also your training: one school of thought says the TQ is the last measure after trying everything else. Another thought is that the TQ comes too late if the wound turns out to require one and it wasn't applied right away.

Our official recommendation for the order of using the kit is to put the gloves on before touching any red stuff.

Contents and size info

The kits are designed to fit into a BDU cargo pocket, jacket pocket, or individual bag, which allows you to keep a compact bleeding control kit on your person at all times. The contents are vacuum-sealed in an easy-to-open and durable package featuring red tear notches. You'll find similar tear notches on the dressing and gauze packages as well.
