MSI NRG-5 emergency food ration, 500 g / 2300 kcal

Real survival food - it's hard to make food lighter and longer lasting than this. Stock up into your home, boat, car and where ever - and when shit hits the fan, at least YOU have something to eat!
Sometimes you wonder what exactly keeps that trainwreck called Africa going - well, MSI emergency rations of course! NRG-5 is a very compact, very lightweight emergency ration packed with calories - these have a up to ten year shelf life and even some nutritional value!
One NRG-5 ration has enough calories to keep a grown man effectively going for 24 hours, and alive for a very long time as long as you've got some water to drink and don't run around too much. This is no á la carte dinner, but a rather tasteless bisquit like block, with a hint of sweetness. This 500 gram ration is made up of nine separate blocks, each worth about 255 kCal.
Pro-tip: NRG-5 is a good base for a simple porridge, throw a few bisquits and water in a mess tin or what ever and get it boiling. Quick and easy, the result is a warm, high energy meal, just the thing to lift your spirits and get you going on a cold morning. A real connoiseur might add some cocoa, or if we go all Finnish Special Forces style, cocoa, Nescafé sticks and raisins - the true all-in-one breakfast!

If more calories were invested in the production (&strand port, packaging, ...) of this ration than what I get back from eating it, then it should maybe be called suicide food.
Could you find out and list the energy input also?
Of course I get the point of this product but I'm actually serious:
If we are serious and honest about survival, then we need to look into the energy input-output calculation of all our foods.
Looking at how many calories we invested sitting by a desk to earn the money to mail-order these rations is "not meeting reality".
