Finnish E-tool, WW2 model, surplus
Genuine Finnish Army spade. Like most Finnish stuff this tool looks rough, but is virtually indestructible. The oldest ones we've seen were made in 1914! These are pieces of history and continue to serve for a long time to come.
Soviet Plash-palatka, rain cape/shelter half, surplus
A truly versatile piece of kit. Like most shelter halves used by armies worldwide, the Soviet model bends to a multitude of uses.
Soviet side cap, surplus
Genuine Soviet enlisted men's side caps. Might or might not come with a cockade.
JNA ammunition pouch, leather, surplus
Yugoslavian ammunition pouches for rifle stripper clips. According to photographic evidence, these were used extensively in the, you guessed it, Balkan wars. Who knows if these were used for AK rounds, cigarettes or... souvenirs.
Finnish leather jackboots, surplus
Finnish army leather jackboots. Although used and abused, they are all serviceable. Not pretty, but intact.
Soviet carrying belt for wounded, canvas, surplus
A long strap, made of strong canvas. These are meant for carrying the wounded or evacuating drunks, but these double up as good project material if strong strap is required. Included is even a metal buckle.
Inttistore M05 fur hat
The official cold weather fur hat of the Finnish defence forces. The fur hat has very, very long traditions in the Finnish army, it was actually after experiences in the Winter War of 1939 against us Finns that the Soviets adopted their now legendary Ushanka fur hats. In Finland the fur hat has been in military service as long as we´ve been independent and is still going strong. A very versatile and configureable model, this can be worn in many ways depending on the situation at hand. Finnish MILSPEC quality! Dead stock from Inttistore!
Czechoslovakian trouser braces, Wehrmacht model, surplus
Old Czechoslovakian trouser suspenders - these look identical to the German World War 2 braces, so much in fact that you sometimes see these sold as originals.
Old Yugoslavian field spades, just the kind like used in times past. This is actually a pretty nice copy of the Soviet WW2 model (or one of them). Even Soviet Union did not manage to ruin a simple shovel, so these are near indestructible but still easy to repair if necessary.
Length about half a metre, weight about three kilograms. Constructed in a simple manner: the thick wooden shaft is just stuffed into its slot and fastened with some screws/nails. In the very unlikely case of the shaft breaking, open the screws/nails, pull the broken bit out, carve a new shaft, stick it in and clamp it back on.
We've seen crappier spades definitely, and these have that historical look to them. Combine that with the relatively low collectible value (at least now) and you have a versatile, usable piece for re-enacting too.
The minute details vary from shovel to shovel along with the shaft length, but all are 'field spade' sized.
Genuine old army surplus
Used, old, rough looking. Still completely serviceable for the intended purpose.
