A not-so-small but easily packable bag for your toiletry items. Made of surplus fabric right here in Finland. A proper no-frills bag with splash proofing!
Durable zippers with a little hanging loop at the other end. This is not a miniature-size bag, but a proper big one. Measurements 27 x 16 x 5 cm (10.5" x 6.5" x 2")
Various materials
Green
The fabric consists of a brushed, fleece-like polyester, with PU coating on the inside, making the fabric waterproof. Specs:
- 100% brushed polyester
- PU-coating on the inside
- Water resistance: 10000 mm - waterproof
Weighs only 45 grams / 15 oz! The material itself is just as waterproof as regular rain capes. We didn't opt for taped seams, those would have cost quite a bit more. If you carry this inside something it's basically waterproof. Moreover, any liquids that might leak inside the bag won't come through and stain the rest of your backpack.
Machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius (104 F) when necessary. Hang dry.
"Green with brown zipper" is the exact same bag, but it has a brown zipper. Only 100 pcs of these in stock.
M91 Camo
The material is surplus tent fabric from Savotta with a Finnish M91 camo pattern. We use it primarily for the Jämä Luhka and utilize the cutting scraps to make these bags. Waste not want not! The fabric is just enough waterproof for the purpose, so a busted toothpaste tube doesn't immediately get to your backpack and other contents.
We recommend washing by hand only if the need arises, machine wash doesn't seem to do good for the fabric.
A reasonable gift idea
An actual usable gift idea for about anyone - every human being leaves the safety of home at some point, abroad or just for a weekend trip to the woods. In this bag you would carry:
- Toiletry items
- Valuables like the wallet, passport, cash, papers (takes inside a folded A4) etc.
- General electronics: batteries and chargers, e-dildo
- The last clean pair of socks and underwear
Jämä is upcycled surplus

Jämä is a Finnish word meaning leftovers or scraps. It’s also one of our house brands for equipment made from recycled or surplus materials. From time to time we accumulate stuff that doesn't sell well but is made out of outstanding materials. We've also got several capable seamstresses here, and the equation is pretty clear: cut that useless stuff apart and sew it back together to create something useful.
Because Finnish labor is one of the most expensive in the world, these are very simple, practical and rugged in design. Our development and prototype production remains in-house while most of the production is outsourced to Turku and other cities - still within Finland. Simplicity means strength: the fewer parts there are, the smaller the chance of breaking anything.

I've got my truck tools organized into several of these bags, they're strong simple pouches that are holding up great so far. A yellow paint pen made for easily read labels.
