The black color is the most uniform and brown has more variations in shade. Check out the product pictures to see more. A light wallet will darken with wear, and you can speed up the process with leather oil. Honey-colored ones were sold out but luckily one of our partners found a pile of old grey Finnish Army leather that was used for something in the Dark Ages. So, we decided to use this perfectly good material to make some more card wallets.
Measurements and capacity
A brand-new card wallet holds one card per side without making it difficult to slide one out. You can carry up to four cards by dedicating one side to the card you use the most and put three cards to the other side. With use, the leather will break in and conform to your needs.
Outer measurements: 101 x 66 x 5 mm (4" x 2.6" x 0.2")
Material
Made from cutting scraps from Kasperi Bags, so these are high-quality vegetable-tanned Swedish Tärnsjö cowhide.
Jämä is upcycled surplus
Jämä is a Finnish word meaning leftovers or scraps. It’s also one of our house brands for equipment made from recycled or surplus materials. From time to time we accumulate stuff that doesn't sell well but is made out of outstanding materials. We've also got several capable seamstresses here, and the equation is pretty clear: cut that useless stuff apart and sew it back together to create something useful.
Because Finnish labor is one of the most expensive in the world, these are very simple, practical and rugged in design. Our development and prototype production remains in-house while most of the production is outsourced to Turku and other cities - still within Finland. Simplicity means strength: the fewer parts there are, the smaller the chance of breaking anything. Read more about Jämä.
