These have been acquired from Denmark, and most of them have a stamp to prove it. But these are Austrian really, because you know, Glock.

Features

Black E-tool with a folding blade that can be locked in four (4) positions: transportation, hoe, shovel, and an interesting hoe/shovel hybrid. If you need to yank something off, this position gives you some leverage. Or you can use it as a very shitty hand bailer.

High impact-resistant polymer handle that doesn’t fold, instead it is extendable. Turn the narrow part counter-clockwise to tighten. Folding those handles is a shitty business anyway. The Glock folks make their own paths, it seems. This is very compact to carry.

Unlike regular E-tools, this comes with a saw. You can find it by unscrewing the cap at the end of the handle and screwing it back on the other way around. You can cut even bigger roots without anger and misery. While the length of the saw blade has its limitations, the shaft provides far better control than those puny tinkering blades you find in some multi-tools.

The tip of the saw blade has a screwdriver head that e.g. fits in the screw found on the shovelhead locking mechanism.

Note! These don’t come with a pouch but you can use any pouch that can fit these. Glock makes a specific pouch for them but some bastard had nicked them before we got these.

Sizing

Weight c 670 g (1.48 lbs). In other words, a lot lighter than E-tools usually are. Measurements when folded for transportation 255 x 158 mm (10" x 6.2"). The length as a shovel 640 mm (25.2"). The length with the saw blade attached is 850 mm (33.5").

Condition

Used Danish military surplus. These have been used for digging so they can have some scratches, surface rust, and small dents. But since these were made for digging, they are perfectly usable for a long time to come. Made in Austria by Glock, more well-known for their pistols.

Austrian surplus

Functional, neutral, clean. That's what the Austrian Bundesheer gear is made of. Our Austrian surplus revolves mostly around the Anzug 75 and Anzug 03 clothing systems, but who knows, maybe the "Tarnanzug Neu" will make it's appearance if the Austrians decide to clear the stocks in the future. Get your OD gear while the stocks last.

After the Second World War the Austrian soldier looked like a weird mixture of Allies and Germans; the M1 style helmet and general profile really tried to bring that NATO vibe up, but a lot of the gear and even the dotted camouflage pattern looked surprisingly much like WW2 German issue. In the 70s they took a major leap towards NATO with the introduction of the all-green Anzug 75 clothing and equipment system closely inspired by the American equivalents, finally letting go of the "old stuff". The Anzug 03 brought the game up to date with some changes in effort to modernize the whole thing. Now the Bundesheer is again moving over to camouflage.

Jos ikinä on tullut mieleen että olisipa kiva kun kenttälapio ei painaisi niin saatanasti... tai ettei jumittuisi kuten kotimainen vaihtoehto.... Enter the Glock. Toimii, kestää kaivaa puolustusasemia, eikä jää leiririnkasta painonsa vuoksi.

It arrived covered in grease and dirt. It has a few rust spots which did not polish out. The saw blade has some damaged teeth. It folds to the same length as the BW Tri-folding e-tool or 3/4 the length of the Romanian folding spade. This makes it great to put in the back of the car.
Unless you want stains on your seats, you must dry the spade if it gets even a little moist, as it will begin to flash rust.

interesting tool - it locks up as sturdy as any other e tool, no complains there, but its ridiculously light. like, lighter than the newer fiskars tools with the polymer handles. the telescoping handle has internal threads at the end so the thing wont collapse on you. the whole thing is slightly more bulky though, and it wont fit in some of the slimmer/shorter carriers. the locking nut is slightly more awkward to use than the usual twist-ring but not a huge deal. the saw is kind of weird - it cuts on the forward stroke. its thicker than the photos show however, and it didnt come close to bending on me when going through a 2x4. its not amazing, but sawing a 2x4 is something i wouldnt bother trying with a serrated shovel. also if you kick the shovel with your right foot when digging, you're gonna be kicking the locking nut a lot until you get used to it. its beefy enough that it wont break under your boot, but also beefy enough to kinda get in the way.

overall construction is excellent, the polymer is rock solid and the blade seems to be good steel. the blade is sliiiightly smaller and thinner than your average folding shovel. if i have to pack an etool for whatever reason now, this is gonna be what i grab, probably just for the weight.
