Wästikivi Eräkivi whetstone

11.99 USD

A rough translation of "Eräkivi" would be "wilderness stone", and that's exactly what this is - sized for easy carry, this little buddy is always ready to keep your blades in shape out in the wilderness. Size 120 x 30 x 10 mm. Made from natural Finnish phyllite, the same stuff that our ancestors used since they first invented a knife that needed maintenance. Naturally due to the natural nature of the stone these don't follow any man made grit values, but that doesn't really matter since each and every Wästikivi will surely keep your blade sharp!

Split. Pry. Smash. With a Downrange Tomahawk in hand you want to do all of this to everything, and you can.

  • Length: 481 mm
  • Weight: 862 g
  • Material: 420HC w. Ceracote

Intended as a tactical breaching tool, this hunk of metal is better thought out than the simple appearance would have you think. The axe head doubles as a hammer and has a cut-out to assist prying with the other end. It can also be used for rescue operations and as a general "zero fucks given"-tool in the outback.

The grips are made from G10 and aggressively formed to give you a good grip. The blade cover is Kydex with a snap fastener, although the blade isn't really sharpened: you split skulls with this thing, not hairs. The shaft of the tool is secured to a nylon PALS base for ease of attachment to various packs or vests, primarily of the MOLLE kind.

Manufactured by Gerber, made in USA.
