Finnish sleeping mat

Finnish sleeping mat

59.99 USD

Carinthia Defence 4 sleeping bag

Finnish M05 rucksack, large

Finnish M05 rucksack, large

216.99 USD

The M05 load bearing system also includes one of these huge, monstrous rucksacks, and sack is indeed the correct term. This pack is designed to simply carry a f*ckload of stuff, not to be comfy, easy to use or anything, just to carry a lot of stuff from point A to B. Totally bombproof construction and tough materials make this a sure bet!

Finnish M05 rucksack, small

Finnish M05 rucksack, small

177.99 USD

The modern Finnish army backpack is the most succesful laymans-pack yet issued by our military. Long gone are the formless "Sipulisäkki" (Onion sack) of WW2 vintage, or the cold war era M85 "Palloreppu" (Ball pack)! These new ones are virtually indestructible and simple as their predecessors, but as a new feature surprisingly nice to use and carry!

Savotta LJK 202 daypack

Savotta LJK 202 daypack

The Dutch solution for protecting their bags is actually quite smart: tightened with drawstrings, carried by stuffing it inside a small bag sewn to the cover.

The latest issue Finnish army backpack snow cover. Excellent, high quality kit from the experts of winter warfare. Protects your pack from both snow and rain but also any prying eyes that may be watching.

The size is generous, this thing is designed to fit over the standard issue M05 backpack (roughly 30 litres) with added sleeping mat and side pouches. The photos were taken with a Savotta Rajapartio ruck which still left some extra space over. This should fit over a bit larger rucksack too provided it's not overpacked.

Founded in 1955 Finn-Savotta, or just Savotta, is known for their simplistic and extremely rugged designs. For decades Savotta has been the go-to supplier of hiking gear for the Finnish civilian market and combat gear and tents for the defence forces.

What kind of fabric is used? While it could be used on a 30/35 ltr backpack... is that a good size for it? perhaps it could also fit a 1000 ltr backpack? Or a hot air balloon... the orange backpack cover is (new) 9,99 this is in a used state 40??

Received the item, it is well made.
The color is more a off-white. The size indeed is large, perhaps too large for a backpack without any side pouches. They designed the cover using elastics that (perhaps) wear over time. And are difficult to change, a simple loop and rope would do as fine and more easy to maintain.
