A gas mask pouch of the new Finnish M05 load carrying system.

A large, rectangular pouch with a separate bag for the mask itself, and a flat pocket on the front. Measurements of the main pouch about 18 x 20 x 13 cm (7.1" x 7.9" x 5.1").

The pull tabs are operated by yanking them slightly sideways. If pulled straight, they won't open up as easily. They can be secured pretty well (i.e. for a parachute drop) by running the additional plastic tabs through the loops before closing the main tabs.

Made of military-grade Cordura, with PU-coating on the inside. The quality is excellent overall, as should be expected.

Made by Finn-Savotta Oy

Founded in 1955 Finn-Savotta, or just Savotta, is known for their simplistic and extremely rugged designs. For decades Savotta has been the go-to supplier of hiking gear for the Finnish civilian market and combat gear and tents for the defence forces.

Today Savotta operates two factories, one in Karstula, Finland, where they make all their tents and metal components and one in Estonia where they do about 50% of their sewing.

Product is fine, but not so much as a gas mask pouch. I haven't had the pleasure of owning or using a Finnish M95 mask yet, but from the size of this pouch I can only imagine that it's an incredibly compact mask along with its filter/s.

I got this pouch with the intent of using it to store a British FM12, and 2 filters (the scott pro 2000 abekp3 ones currently sold on this site, they're also massive filters mind), but the pouch barely fits the mask on its own, let alone with a filter attached, and certainly not with a spare. I've since decided to use a Polish army bread bag, its more than big enough to house all 3.

Now that said, this is still a solidly built pouch, which I'm now using to store a Swedish army mess kit and some fire kit. Fits these perfectly, with some room to spare. But as a glorified general purpose pouch, it's a tad expensive. The little bag attached to the inside is neat cute little thing. Could maybe be improved as a pouch with some Pals on the side, but as this isn't a särmä product, I'm not sure this feedback will go anywhere.
