Field Phone Cable, 100 m / 300', Surplus

Price 19.99 USD 39.99 USD excluding sales tax

About a hundred meters of twin cable for establishing a field telephone connection. (Even more in freedom yards.) Just the cable, no phones or coils. If you are pissed off by crappy cell phone coverage, this will create a very reliable connection between your command bunker and the living room couch.

These cables were used for establishing the connection between two field telephones. So, all you need is the phones and one of these cables. Peel some of the insulation off at the ends and connect the bare wires to the knobs on the phone. Note, these are sold for collecting, so this is just theoretical speculation and instructions for rebuilding the tele network after the zombie apocalypse. As you can see in the pics, the cables come in various colors, but the color doesn’t matter.

Condition

This is fucking cable, not some disposable fashion crap. These aren’t biodegradable, so they haven’t died during years of storage either. We have no idea of the country of origin. Possibly Germany or East Germany. Possibly something else.

Works as designed with East German field phones and the wire works for building improvised off centre fed dipole antennas for HF radio use.
The insulation is not rubber, perhaps some type of Eastern Bloc resin, and the core of the wire is not copper, rather it looks like stainless steel.
Good, solid comms cable which won't snap on you or break. It's not bombproof but it's close.
