Features
Here’s a cool m65ish navy blue jacket from the Netherlands. Use it in the city or when hiking when the weather demons don’t like you. The nice tall collar protects your neck from the north wind and the lining makes this quite a warm fall and spring season jacket. With a thick mid-layer, this should be ok in winter, too. Just don’t go conquering the Himalayas with it.
These also come with a fairly nice selection of pockets. There is also a pocket for a hood, which isn’t unfortunately included. Detachable hoods are nice except when some prick steals it.
Size info
The sizes are normal men’s Euro sizes. Double the size and you get the chest circumference in centimeters. However, these are quite roomy in the chest department. So, when you pick your size, you will easily fit a thick mid-layer underneath. If you don’t need that, you can pick a bit smaller size. For example, the size 56 fit quite nicely on a copywriter with a 116 cm (45.7”) chest.
Lengthwise there are optimized for average-height folks. So, if you are very tall and slim or you have orangutan arms, the sleeves might be a bit short if you pick a smaller jacket. However, with the waist and hem drawcords, you can adjust the fit of a bit loose-fitting jacket.
Condition
Quite gently used Dutch military surplus. Clean without holes or other signs of misuse. The hook and loop bands might have gathered some crap but otherwise these are really nice. However, we cannot guarantee that the membrane of a used coat is 105% waterproof anymore because it is quite impossible to check it thoroughly. Plus these didn’t come with any specifications for the membrane. This has of course been taken into consideration in the price.
