Dutch Daypack, Rucksack Side Pouches, DPM, Surplus
Quite a fabugastic daypack made from the side pouches of the Dutch rucksack. Fugly as hell but very handy nevertheless. You don’t need an additional daypack in addition to the big pack anymore. You can also use it as spare parts in case the side pouches of your big rucksack are worn out.

These have attachment zippers that close from the bottom towards the top, as PLCE rucks and old Berghauses had. At some point, these were flipped so the zippers close top-down. Check which style your ruck is if you have one already! The wrong kind of side pouch can be attached but will be oriented upside down.
Features
A similar contraption of the British PLCE pack was called the "Rocket pack" or"Rocket pouches" because that is what it kinda looks like. Some silver spray paint and starch and you are ready to conquer the space!
The idea is to provide the soldiers with a daypack without them having to carry an additional pack. Simply leave the rucksack in camp, unzip the side pouches, zip them together, and attach the straps. Tadaa! You have a roughly 20-liter mini pack for nightly assaults. Works the same way in civilian use, when e.g. hunting or photographing.
Two pouches are zipped together. Both have one top-loaded compartment and take about 10 liters. The measurements of a single packs are c. 36 x 21 x 14 cm (14.2” x 8.3” x 5.5”). The whole pack weighs 650 grams (1.43 lbs) when empty. Materials aren’t mentioned but most likely Cordura with some waterproofing treatment.
Dutch military surplus
The condition of these packs varies, all are used. Some are in very good condition, but some have pretty faded colors. All of them are intact and serviceable.

these are side pouches from a large dutch backpak zipped together. They will however not zip onto the new berghaus packs (the dutch army switched to a new system). unless you sew webbing on the side.
they will however attache to webbing with an extremely solid molle attachement. What i do for instance is take any large backpack with webbing and attache 1 on top, 1 on the bottom and 2 on the back. In addition ofcourse to the side pouches already on the backpack.
They also zip to eachother to make an infinite chain, extremely modular.

I've split them into either side of my main pack and will use them as a day pack for hunting. One on the back and one on the front feels more natural then the side by side.
They also zip to each other (back to back) to make 1 round bag. Great for putting on a frame or put a stick through it and carry like a hobo bundle
