Do you enjoy playing the doctor? Get this awesome kidney-shaped enameled hospital dish and make your spouse happy. If you aren’t into such things, don’t worry! These will also turn your kitchen into a foodie heaven. Whatever you scoop on these will look delicious to your guests and on Instagram.

Features

This is a very typical kidney dish also known as an emesis dish, a fancy name for a puke bucket. These are too shallow for puking though. The big boys have told, we haven’t tried. White in color with blue edging. It is made from enameled iron and weighs about 250 grams (8.8 oz). Nowadays these are made from stainless steel The measurements are c. 29 x 12 x 4 cm (11.4” x 4.7” x 1.6”). Then again you can measure this kind of blob in many ways, so don’t huff and puff much in case your measurement system provides a bit different result.

Use

These were a common sight in hospitals at least until the 1950s, in the eastern bloc probably a lot later. They were used in medical and surgical wards for bloody dressings and other medical waste. The shape allows the dish to be held against the patient's body to catch any falling fluids or goo. For example, this shape is nowadays also used when cleaning ears.

If you don’t plan on building a ‘50s hospital wing in your sex dungeon, these will at least make a delightful serving dish or fruit bowl that will certainly evoke some exciting conversation. And how utterly charming fancy banquet plates could these also be! You can also use them to store screws, bolts, or any other small things that are easy to lose.

Condition

We are sorry to say that these are clean, so they don’t come with guts and gore. At least some of these are completely unused, and they have the manufacturer’s sticker where the bloody rags should be.
