Chicom Type 85 Chest Rig, Surplus

A beautiful Chicom chest rig for the type 85 submachine gun mags.

Unissued late 80s mililitary surplus of the People’s Liberation Army, which really isn’t that commonly seen here. And you won’t be seeing these for much longer either. So, get yours before some capitalist pig buys them all.

We got a special shipment of Chinese army Chicom gear. The legend has it that these rare beauties came from a secret British SAS warehouse. Why did they have these in the first place, remains a mystery. The main thing is that we got them now, and soon you can have them if you act fast. This epic battle gear will disappear very quickly.

Features

The Chicom type 85 was designed to carry the Chinese Type 85 submachine gun magazines that hold caliber 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridges in 30-round magazines. The inner measurements of the pouches are c. 18,5 x 5 x 2.5 cm / 7.3” x 2” x 1”.

This chest rig has four submachine gun mag pouches side by side. It also comes with two wider but shorter pouches for a cleaning kit, grenades, etc. Unlike the older rigs that had wooden toggles, the pouches are closed with metal buckles. The adjustable shoulder straps cross each other at the back and the waist belt strings are tied together at the back. The distance from the tip of one of the belt strings to the tip of the other is c. 155 cm / 5' 1". If that ain’t enough, it is easy to add more string, and losing weight is apparently also trendy.

Condition

This is unissued Chinese military surplus forgotten in a dusty old warehouse. So, it is in as good a condition as decades-old products can be. Of course, when they have been stacked in a warehouse for this long, it won’t be smooth as the baby’s bottom. The colors can be a bit faded and there might be some warehouse dust on them, etc. If anything but mint condition gives you anxiety, buy a Chinese copy of the Chinese original. But that won’t be nearly as cool as this.
