If you're not into digital things but prefer an accurate, easily legible, and affordable wristwatch, here's a solid choice. Running on a Japanese movement, the MRW-210 has a clear-cut aesthetic to it, a bit brutal, even.

If you're not into digital things but prefer an accurate, easily legible, and affordable wristwatch, here's a solid choice. Running on a Japanese movement, the MRW-210 has a clear-cut aesthetic to it, a bit brutal, even.

The looks hint towards diving use and the watch has good waterproofing for swimming and such, but the 2-directional timing bezel has no clicks and is rather a novelty, and the glass is made of resin as is the case with affordable Casios. The bezel does have raised parts that offer a bit of protection against scratches.

The size of this watch is striking with a 5 cm / 2" bezel, but it's relatively flat and lightweight, so it is unlikely to bother you in action.

The suffix 3-AVEF means the color code (3 for Green), A for regular display in digital watches, and European version. This particular model is assembled in China with a Japanese movement. The various regions are most often just packaged a bit differently, and the manual language varies.

Features

These are features that may require clarification and may not be found on all models:

Rotating Bezel

Rotate the arrow to meet the minute hand. From there on, the numbers indicate minute passed since you set the zero. The bezel rotates both ways and has no retaining clicks so don't count on it for critical stuff.

A bit of a dumb calendar

This watch thinks all months have 31 days. Set the date after shorter months on the 1st day.

The weekdays can be set to Spanish or English. When you set the day, the languages alternate. When the watch is running, it skips every other, retaining your choice.

Glow-In-The-Dark

The hands glow in the dark after exposure to light. They are easily visible in quite dim conditions anyhow.

Made by Casio

The first invention by Tadao Kashio was the yubiwa pipe: a ring that allows you to smoke a cigarette hands-free and all the way to the end. Tobacco was expensive in war-torn Japan (because WWII), and people had their hands full of work, so this was exactly what the market wanted. With the profits from the pipe, Kashio could fund the development of Casio's first electro-mechanical calculator.

High intelligence and flair for business combined with this sort of diligence could not have led to anything but the success Casio has achieved. The company has been the first mover too many times to mention. Let's skip the list this time.

Being the first mover has not sacrificed quality: many people still use Casio wristwatches they bought 40 years ago, and they have gained the trust of NASA, numerous special (and non-special) forces, law enforcement, paramedics, and so on. Another long list. The TL;DR is that all of these are damn good, pick any one you like!
