A really handy piece of surplus clothing: this Bundeswehr cold weather liner jacket can be used to turn any shell jacket into an insulated winter jacket. If you own the BW parka, this is a must-have!

This liner works stand-alone much like a fleece, but it's best worn under the Bundeswehr parka or a Windproof Smock. Thick enough to provide nice warmth in cold weather, but not at an "arctic exploration" level. This is really good for layered clothing, so you can adjust to any activity and weather.

Zipper closure, knit cuffs and collar, tightening in the hem and one front pocket. Ventilation is found below the armpits. Weight about 800 grams.

These are usually made of 55/45% blend of polyamide & polyester. Wash in 40 degress Celsius.

Size info

Sizes in the regular Bunderwehr system, with centimetre sizes in the brackets (height/chest). If you are between sizes, round up. The fit is overall quite snug, so picking one size wider than the numbers would suggest would allow more clothing underneath if needed.

Used German surplus

Used, but in serviceable condition. Materials, zippers and manufacturing quality is top notch, as you would expect from European manufacture.

Nice and warm, I especially like the long collar. There were a couple of stains but they all cleaned up well and there's no noticeable smell. This may be heretical on my part but I think I may like this more that my m65's liner which is basically a woobie.

A very sturdy liner. The one I received is from the early '90s. It's a bit heavier than expected, but very durable as a consequence. Much better made than the USGI field jacket liner, but perhaps with a higher weight-to-warmth ratio as a consequence. Still, an excellent bargain!

Aivan loistava vuori, kannattaa ehdottomasti hankkia jos omistaa BW:n parkan. Vuori tuo aimo annoksen lisälämpöä kyseiseen takkiin, ja oma kokemus tukee tuotekuvausta - kymmenistä pakkasasteista puhuttaessa kannattaa vielä laittaa alle joku villapaita. Tämä istuu samankokoisen parkan kanssa kuin hanska - hihat on suunniteltu sen mittaisiksi, että resoreiden reuna yltää juuri varsinaisen parkan hihansuuvelcroihin asti ja kauluksetkin menevät hyvin yksiin. Vuoritakin kaulus on myös erinomainen lämmike kun sen nostaa ylös, ja näyttää avattuna sopivan reteeltä.

Olen kokeillut vuorta lisäksi jenkkiläisen M65-takin ja brittien Windproof Smockin kanssa. M65:n kanssa yhteensopivuus on vähän niin ja näin, mutta WP Smockin kanssa tämä toimii erinomaisesti.
