British MVP rain jacket, MTP, surplus
A lightweight waterproof and breathable British army issue rain jacket. Super simple, minimal design and small pack volume.
MVP (Moisture Vapour Permeable) is the "Gore-Tex of the British armed forces". We don't know for sure who exactly manufactures the membrane, but the result is all the same: a fully waterproof garment that breathes much better than a rubber rain jacket.
This lightweight model is true to it's name: no extra bullshit what so ever:
- Waterproof zipper
- Draw cord hem
- Ventilation zippers in the armpits
- Zip on the chest to access pockets of clothing underneath
- Rank insignia tab on the chest
- Velcro cuffs
Please note that clothes with a membrane require care to retain their waterproof properties. Washing should be done in lukewarm water, by hand with a special detergent. Periodic waterproofing treatment is recommended by washing in, spraying on, or both.
Sized according to user height and chest circumference. Unlike most rainwear these measurements are quite precise, if you're over 170 cm tall, don't expect a 170 jacket to fit you lengthwise.
The model in the picture is size 175/96 cm, wearing a 170/90 cm (Medium) jacket. The sleeves were fine when standing still, but moving the arms would pull them up.
