NVA wool neck tube, grey, surplus

NVA wool neck tube, grey, surplus

9.99 USD

An essential bit of winter kit: the headover or toque. The German armed forces have used this for ages. This tube-like piece of cloth was originally a Wehrmacht issue item: go ahead and look at any old photos from the eastern front and you'll see the popularity.

Särmä Finnish M36 field cap

Särmä Finnish M36 field cap

39.99 USD

A proper good reproduction of the WW2 era Finnish M36 field cap, also known as the "verikauha" or "blood ladle". A surprisingly functional design, especially for it's age, and not too shabby looking eihter. Made from high quality wool frieze with Finnish Lion emblem buttons.

Särmä merino socks

Särmä merino socks

9.99 USD

If you still use cotton socks, dump them now and get these instead. These are superb for outdoor use, but work just as well as formal wear too! These aren't thick, so they can be used around the year. Made with our own specs in Finland.

Särmä traditional neckwarmer, merino wool, black

Särmä traditional neckwarmer, merino wool, black

19.99 USD

A traditional neckwarmer made of Merino wool! Truly a godsend if you're looking for something to protect only the neck.

Särmä viscose boxers, black

Särmä viscose boxers, black

9.99 USD

Proper good boxer shorts for an affordable price - these are more like the Common Man version of the Merino wool model we also sell. Being made of viscose, these have sort of poor man's versions of many of the good characteristics of wool. Hey, still beats cotton!

BW field cap, cold weather, Flecktarn, surplus

BW field cap, cold weather, Flecktarn, surplus

9.99 USD

This piece of headgear is worn mainly for two reasons - it is very warm and unbelievably ugly.

BW neck tie, surplus

BW neck tie, surplus

2.99 USD

The problem with civilian neck ties is that they just fall apart in real rough use. Military neck ties are made to withstand combat. And if you plan on going to a fight without a tie, maybe you're not a real gentleman!

Belgian wool gloves, surplus

Belgian wool gloves, surplus

4.99 USD

Simple dark green wool gloves. Probably meant to be used as liner gloves, but what stops you from using these as they are? Belgian army surplus, and in totally unissued condition, these were not used to put indigenous peoples down.

Swiss mittens with flannel lining, surplus

Swiss mittens with flannel lining, surplus

4.99 USD

A proper ol' pair of mittens, these old Swiss army gauntlets are made of thick curiously textured cotton which you would be hard pressed to find today even with all kinds of Poirots and Sherlocks combined. The lining is ridiculously comfy flannel and the condition completely unissued. Made large enough to fit wool gloves underneath. Apparently meant originally as protective gloves for rocket launcher operator, these work well as regular gauntlets too.

A neck tube, headover or toque is one of those inventions people take for granted or some have even forgotten. Still, it's a very simple and versatile piece of clothing to wear in cool and cold weather. We have a selection of these for sale, here's a British one. This is one of the rare military issue headovers that will actually cover your whole head and neck at the same time!

Being somewhat mentally isolated on an island can cause local customs to become funny to others. Driving on the wrong side of the road, single windows and faucets without mixers to name a few peculiarities of the island nation. Thankfully this neck tube is just a neck tube, no funny stuff, apart from being called a headover.

The material is 100% wool dyed with a shade of green familiar to anyone with previous experience with British war stuff. The length is generous, over 60 cm (2') and the width loose enough to allow wearing in various ways without squeezing your eyeballs out.

When you have to, wash in about 30 degrees Celsius with wool cycle. Using wool care products won't hurt at all. Wool is naturally quite resistant to soiling, so no need to wash after every use, unless you use this as toilet paper.

British Army surplus

Used, washed, intact. Really good stuff even if you don't consider the low price. Somewhat surprisingly the tags say these are made in China, but honestly we wouldn't have guessed before reading them.

Mine was in near-new condition and keeps my face and neck warm (tested at -15 C so far) while not making me feel like I'm being slowly strangled by a small, weak child.

Awesome piece of clothing ! Mine looks brand new. It has that typical smell of long storage, but it should fade away easily. Seems confortable and warm. For this price, don't pass it !

Mine came in almost perfect shape, there were some loose threads but nothing major. That being said it's soft and comfortable I think it's very good value for money. I'm definitely going to be using this for the rest of winter.
