Features
In principle, this is a pretty handy and lightweight shelter half, copied almost directly from the American model. Packs small, pretty easy to work with when setting up a lean-to style shelter with just some cordage and pegs. Measures from tip to tip and side to side about 330 x 125 cm (130" x 49"). Weighs about 650 grams (1.4 lbs). Not too bad.
The fabric is nylon/polyester, coated with polyurethane on the underside. The "problem" that will likely occur with these is that the coating will at some point start to decay, and like with synthetic leather and pop stars, the aging process is not at all a pretty sight. When you're pulling the sticky lump of nylon apart, you will immediately notice how the polyurethane peels unevenly off, and there is jack shit you can do about it. The best part however is the smell that soon reaches your nose; it's like the scent of a dirty industrial sewer and unwashed nether regions put into one. Also, it does not fade away easily, so you can enjoy it for a long time. But this doesn't really affect the use of the shelter that much, it just makes it a bit less water repellent (and more breathable?). If you have set it up well, the nylon itself should be enough.
So, if you can live with questionable water repellency and the ghastly smell and want it all in a compact, easy-to-carry package, this is the shelter for you!
Complete with a stuff sack, pegs, and poles for one half of the tent. So, buy two sets if you want the whole thing. You will also need a length of guy rope, as that might not be included.
Condition
Real deal Austrian military surplus. Used, but in overall OK condition. The smell and stickiness mentioned above might greet you, so be warned.

Austrian surplus
Functional, neutral, clean. That's what the Austrian Bundesheer gear is made of. Our Austrian surplus revolves mostly around the Anzug 75 and Anzug 03 clothing systems, but who knows, maybe the "Tarnanzug Neu" will make it's appearance if the Austrians decide to clear the stocks in the future. Get your OD gear while the stocks last.
After the Second World War the Austrian soldier looked like a weird mixture of Allies and Germans; the M1 style helmet and general profile really tried to bring that NATO vibe up, but a lot of the gear and even the dotted camouflage pattern looked surprisingly much like WW2 German issue. In the 70s they took a major leap towards NATO with the introduction of the all-green Anzug 75 clothing and equipment system closely inspired by the American equivalents, finally letting go of the "old stuff". The Anzug 03 brought the game up to date with some changes in effort to modernize the whole thing. Now the Bundesheer is again moving over to camouflage.
