AB Canteen Cup, Stainless Steel

Price 14.99 USD excluding sales tax

Invented over a hundred years ago and still used by the US Army. This is a clever little thing - a metal cup that forms a compact package with the canteen, which is sold separately. An excellent alternative for a full-sized mess tin when space is an issue. We have been selling US surplus cups before but they are becoming quite rare and thus very expensive. These are modern reproductions.

Features

This smart cup was invented over a hundred years ago. The cup is designed to be stored together with the canteen, taking up virtually no extra space at all. The style has remained pretty much the same since WWI, although during material shortages these have been made from aluminum. We also have a suitable lid for the cup.

These cups are made of stainless steel, which means they are durable and can be heated on open fire. As a nice feature, the heat conductivity of stainless steel is far lower compared to aluminum. This fits about 0.6 liters of mac and cheese and weighs about 210 grams (7.4 oz) when empty. On the backside, there are two metal wire thingies that can be folded out to form a handle. Manufacturer A. Blöchl. Made in China.

Don't pour drink mix into your canteen, that's disgusting, you ape! Mix your gatorade in here! Combine with lid and keep your ramen warm. Perfect fit with US army canteens, no empty space at the bottom.

Good quality reproduction. Good steel. Handles could be better. I use this with a pathfinder canteen. I doesn't nest completely but it will fit on somewhat. I can stow this cup and lid and the pathfinder canteen in us army canteen pouch easily.

Does the job, but is a little flimsy compared to surplus cups. Watch out for the handle, it tends to want to move around when you're holding a full cup; nearly ended up wearing my coffee.
